WORDS FROM YOUR PRESIDENT

Last week we had the LSMS House of Delegate meeting with multiple passed and fail resolutions. A new leader was installed Dr. Dean Griffen of Shreveport our 131st president. He advocate for patients and physicians. He is knowledgable and is recipient of multiple awards and honors. Congratulation Dr. Griffen. We hop your leadership guides us to a healthcare reform which will benefits our patients and our physicians.

This year will be a year of changes. Changes in which physicians did not participated enough to recognized the pit falls of the reform. We are expected to change as we go. If our offices fall in disarray just find another job. Healthcare is assaulted with changes which will cost more than we expected. We have more constraints and regulation which will cost more.

Medicaid is in economic struggle. Medicare is as well. We need to be united and always communicate your need to your representatives for advocacy.

My tenure as a President of the WPMS will end this month. I wish the best to our new officers.

The Saint Tammany Parish Medial Society will meet next week and I will be there to advocate for Distric X.
